Background
Against the backdrop of globalization today, higher education has emerged as a pivotal force driving social development and economic growth, with international exchange and cooperation becoming an irreversible trend. Amidst the rapid advancements in information technology, particularly the widespread application of digital and artificial intelligence technologies, the field of higher education is undergoing unprecedented transformations. Furthermore, the escalating global emphasis on sustainable development underscores the increasingly crucial role of higher education in nurturing talents with a global perspective, innovative spirit, and social responsibility. In light of these developments, China Association of Higher Education plans to host the "China Higher Education International Week" with series of events from October 10 to 15, 2024. This prestigious event will encompass two significant international academic conferences: the 3rd Global Universities Association Forum (GUAF), 2024 International Forum on Higher Education (IFHE), along with related side events.
Goals and Themes
Themed "Higher Education and Sustainable Development: Our Common Future" , the "China Higher Education International Week" aims to establish an international platform by convening these two pivotal conferences. It will bring together experts, scholars, educators and policymakers from the global higher education sector to delve into topics encompassing "Higher Education Innovation in the Digital Era, Scientific and Technological Innovation and Sustainable Development, and Generative AI and the Future of Higher Education". By exploring the innovative paths of higher education in the digital era, the relationship between technological innovation and sustainable development, and the impact of AI on the future of higher education, the event seeks to facilitate the sharing of educational philosophies, teaching methodologies, and scientific research achievements. Ultimately, it endeavors to propel the collective advancement of global higher education.
